GjC bi-weekly focus seminar

May 18, 2021 @ 11:30 - 13:30

Center for Global Journalism and Communication runs bi-weekly seminars on Tuesdays, open for general participation. Please subscribe to our newsletter and blog. Invite your peers to join:

On Monday May 18th, we will record our first joint podcast, so please sign in for this event. In the future we want to have more of our bi-weekly Tuesday interactions turn into podcasts. This will be our trial run.

The first half of the Tuesday may 18th session will be an interview with Kåre Melhus, interview conducted by Oddgeir Tveiten.

Kåre Melhus is a former journalist with the Norwegian National Broadcasting company and an educator with a deep knowledge of news media in Kenya. Kåre is a former lecturer at NLA University College. In the interview we will touch upon contemporary journalism challenges in Kenya, issues relating to press freedom in Kenya and comparative perspectives on journalism in Kenya relative to other countries in the region.

After the interview there will be time for debate, all recorded.

This session will take half of our time. The second half will be dedicated to advancing the book plans, with time to discuss chapter idea, key themes for the book, roles and contributions.

Please sigh in for the session by sending an email to Abit or Oddgeir.
