We are happy to announce our new center member, PhD- candidate Manisha Mishra. She is currently a PhD Research Fellow at the University of Agder. Her research focuses on highly mobile migrants and their sense of identity and belonging.

Although she is currently working on a PhD in Sociology, Manisha has a background in media and communication studies, having previously completed a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Communication (at Manipal University, India). She also holds a second Master’s degree in Transcultural Studies from Heidelberg University, Germany. Manisha previously worked as an Assistant Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication (at Sikkim Manipal University, India). She has published articles on Japanese anime and Indian films and has also written on Iranian new wave cinema. Her interests lie primarily in animation, film and television studies, intercultural communication, international communication, and transcultural studies.
